Jack Schramm worked as superintendent of payroll with the Detroit Department of Street Railways (DSR) before his retirement. In 1976 he teamed up with Bill Henning, a professor at Macomb County Community College, and the two of them put together their first book, Detroit: Its Trolleys and Interurbans. Eck Frank Schramm was born in DeWitt, Nebraska, on September 7, 1883. He received his A.B. from the University of Oklahoma in 1906 and M.A. in geology from the University of Nebraska in 1908.
